New
Owners to Expand Aegis Product Line

- Aegis Systems is going back to the drawing board. Literally.
The
company is now in the hands of Clear Blue Engineering, the
firm that originally designed part of the Aegis home-management
system.
Clear
Blue acquired all Aegis assets from Lenbrook, the Canadian-based
distributor of high-end A/V systems for the residential
market...
...While
lauded by its dealers, the Aegis system (a 2003 CE Pro High-Impact
Product award recipient) has developed very slowly over
the course of several years. Clear Blue plans to step up
R&D in order to bring more products to market quickly.
"We have the engineering staff and infrastructure for
new-product design," says Clear Blue president Dan
Minardi. "Since manufacturing happens here, we can
upgrade existing products and implement new designs in a
relatively short amount of time. Also, we’ll be able
to create custom solutions for dealers that have special
requirements, and help them solve problems at a relatively
low cost."

Clear
Blue Acquires Aegis
June 22, 2004 - WESTMINSTER, Col.
- Clear Blue Entertainment, an engineering firm and manufacturer
of high-performance audio/video equipment, announces its
recent acquisition of Aegis Systems from The Lenbrook Group.
For
Clear Blue, the acquisition represents the addition of a
line of home automation systems to its line of A/V switches
and matrices.
Aegis
Systems has an extensive list of dealers in the United States
and Canada. "We are glad to announce that customers
can now turn to us for all components of their home automation
systems," says Clear Blue president Dan Minardi.

our goals.
We
are looking forward to some new and exciting enhancements

Color Touch Screen Now Shipping
Aegis Systems, one of North America’s

currently shipping a color touch screen interface for its
popular Aegis Home Management System. This elegant, easy to
use interface allows homeowners to control lighting, HVAC
and security from up to sixteen different locations in the
home.

Aegis Systems Wins Product of the Year!
The Aegis Audio Video Management System (AVMS)
and Home Management System (HMS)
have
been
awarded Hi-Impact Product of the Year by EH Publishing. The
coveted prize was presented by CE Pro editor-at-large Julie
Jacobsen at a reception at this year’s EH Expo in Long
Beach California. This award recognized the unique capabilities
of the touch screen based Aegis AVMS, especially when used
with the Aegis Home Management System. In an interview before
the ceremony Jacobsen recognized Aegis’ capabilities
by saying “there is really nothing else like it”.
Jeff Jerome, who accepted the award for Aegis Systems added
“Although we are proud of the critical acclaim the press
continue to bestow on Aegis, we are not resting on our laurels.
We will soon launch the new AVMS 2.0, that further enhances
all of the award winning features.
The
Aegis Audio/Video Management System is a complete whole
house audio/video distribution, media management and control
system. It consists of a Base Control Unit that
provides
A/V switching and up to eight Touch Screen Consoles that
provide local control points in various rooms. When used
with the Aegis Home Management System, AVMS consoles provide
a single point of control for music, video, temperature,
lighting and security.
Aegis Announces Ethernet Connectivity
Aegis Systems is pleased to announce that the Aegis 3000 controller
is now shipping with a built-in Ethernet port. This port,
allows the Aegis 3000 to be operated from up to three other
devices on a home’s computer network.
Aegis
Systems is simultaneously releasing version 2.4 of Aegis
HMS PC Access software that enables this port. According
to Jeff Jerome, Aegis’ Director of Product Development
“Now any PC (running Aegis PC Access software) can
connect to the Aegis 3000 from any network port in a home.
But, that is just the beginning, eventually this port will
open up a world of Aegis connectivity.”

Captures Mark of Excellence Awards

3, Orlando, Florida (EH Expo) Aegis Systems is proud to
announce that it’s home automation system swept two
of the three top awards for residential installations at
the 2003 Mark of Excellence awards. We would like to congratulate
our dealers Tangora Technologies for winning the “classic”
home installation award and ETC. Inc. for winning the “luxury
home” award. Both of these winning homes used the
Aegis system as their core. These prestigious Mark of Excellence
awards are awarded by the Home Tech division of the Consumer
Electronics Association. Each entrant is evaluated by a
panel of judges highly experienced in all aspects of home
systems design and installation.
